i must take exception barry's tirade of abuse against the majority of smokers who would not dream of lighting up in someone elses house or car.
i wonder who is selfish and ignorant in this case.

Object ahead Howard. I said there are considerate smokers but the utter refusal of many with their continuous whinging about the ban and utter disregard for the nastiness of how that habit affects others is a demonstration of why the ban is necessary.

What about the disgusting habits of conservative government ministers earning money from their environmental investments befitting from the policies that they themselves pass into law? Now that's a real scandal but of course Barry no doubt you will find some way of excusing this corruption.

I'm also wondering what Barry's on about.
No-one on this thread has even complained about the smoking ban in pubs and restaurants.
My note was that if they tried banning smoking in one's own house, we may have many empty houses.
As said in the past here, I believe cars pollute the air we breathe, in particular in towns and cities. And children sitting in prams are exposed to the most dangerous level of the exhaust fumes, which is about one metre above the road/pavement surface.
Barry, try being less impulsive and more open-minded. That which leaves an exhaust pipe is toxic chemical smoke belching out into public areas and into people's lungs

LOL Alexander. The same old desperate tripe in defence of the indefensible. Typical stuff from Philip too.
Narrow minded selfish smokers, blind to the discomfort of others.

Well I have suffered years and years of being choked, of having my clothes made to stink at the hands of smokers every time I went into a pub or restaurant. I think I am entitled to a bit of arrogance now that filthy habit has been banned from civilised company.

He is a considerate smoker. Natalie would have his b**** for a bow tie if he smoked indoors.

Ahhhh, now that's interesting I didn't know Charlie was a smoker. That must be highly embarrassing for you Barry having to remove yourself from his company every time he lights up. Do you lecture him on his disgusting habit or do you keep a diplomatic silence whilst inside seething, seething?

I lecture him on it regularly but I have never seen him light up indoors.

Barry is just being vindictive, then. Still, amazing how he brushes off any remark at chemical exhaust pollution.

very perceptive alex, i thought chas had given up being selfish and ignorant - he asked a question in the commons about the tax on tobacco being too high and added that he was a reformed man and had turned his back on the evil weed.

Charlie is one of the few considerate smokers I referred to who do not thrust his disgusting waste products on others, Hence his being civilised company. Clearly unlike some of the drug addicts on this forum.
