Party politics at town and parish level is totally inappropriate. This is a case of Buggins' turn.

I agree Peter - whatever the individual's political view, it should never be necessary to bring them to the Town/Parish Council - but it does and very often and then slows progress.

Here is a picture of Mayor Elect Cllr Ann Smith with fellow Councillor and husband Mick Smith. As Jan T says there...Both work very hard in the Buckland Ward and have done for years as I understand it..we took this picture at last years mayor making..Ann had just become Deputy Mayor.

I detect a touch of the Michael Jacksons there. Or maybe it's blondes only Howard?

The new Mayor Cllr Ann Smith and all the pictures from last night's Mayor Making are now featured on the frontpage in full glorious colour...with a few words added from yours truly. The grand occasion went off without a hitch and we saw some regular faces of Forum fame mingling in the throng..Barry Williams, Terry Nunn, Nigel Collor, Neil Wiggins to name but a few.
Quite a number of empty seats this year - that seems to be a first, dont remember that previously. But the occasion was well handled and is always interesting.

I thought that the "Palm Court" quartet added a nice touch to the proceedings. Mind you I did think that I was watching the "Ladykillers" at times, funny how you associate certain tunes with things.
Spotted Simon Finlay keeping on eye on things from the balcony.

Yes the "Palm Court" quartet were certainly different, actual name is the Haysden String Quartet..it sez here.
Here is an extra pic ( more on frontpage of course )...another one of outgoing Mayor Ronnie Philpott, this time with little Owen...ah now I cant remember, he was either a grandchild or a nephew, ColetteB will know I'm sure. But a nice little lad enjoying the occasion.

Ah..error! I've been spelling Anne without the e but have now corrected it on the frontpage and am acknowledging it here. Ooops! I have spelt it without the e above too but I will leave those. I was under the impression that it didnt have an e but there we are..gulp!
Ah yes Sue I saw you in the distance last night but sadly I never got round to everybody with the camera or to say hello, but will definitely catch up with you next time. I am always available for a bit of stalking lol!!
Had a chat with a number of people last night but when you have to do pictures as well the oul agenda gets taken up quite quickly.
You see below...I'm driving the Mayor to drink already!!
here I am making a few notes but most of all I should have noted how to spell her name correctly...
