It is not a case of the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing .MCD is run by the trustees .I sit on the Audit Committee so I know excactly what money is in the bank I have already stated an accountant from Mcabe ,Ford an Williams advises us on financial matters .
Unlike the government of the day we guard our balances .If urgent repairs are needed for our buildings we have to have money in reserve .
It is not for me to disclose matters of commercial sensivity .WE are not government financed /
Would you expect me to enquire into your financial affairs I think not .
If you let your property fall into disrepair it would take a lot of time and effort to achieve an improvement .
Trust me we are not a secret society and I dont know who you think runs MCD
I have given you the names of trustees ,who the accountants are ,the property Management and how many staff are employed .
No secrets .
No one owns MCD there is not someone sitting there making money ..
Sue, you are to be applauded for your openness and honest answers to our questions, many thanks.
However, I think the MCD is getting a negative press due to it's reluctance to part with information, and aparent accptance of being the owner of dilapidated buildings in our town. I support your suggestion of an open day as that would potentially give us the chance to ask questions and for MCD to do a bit of positive PR.
Chuck in some tea and bickies and everyone wins, except PoshBarry as he prefers champers or a fine coffee.

I don't have anything to add to Sue's posting, she is right in everything she's said.
One or two along London Road owned by MCD are active businesses, one or two are empty and will be smartened up and offered for sale or rent.
There are no secrets, other than normal business sensitivities.
It is thoroughly wholesome and has the best interests of its residents, at the forefront of all its actions.

Roger, I do not think some of your residents think the same,I have been told by one or two them they can not get repairs or outside smartened up after sending letters and phoning up asking for it to be done.

I don't believe it Viic. knowing the set-up there, I simply do not believe that.
Why would they need to write, the Manager and General Manager are on site every day ? There's an adminstration clerk there too. It would be as quick for people to walk to the office as it would to phone.
