The same old tired one dimensional justifications
The reason I post so little on this forum these days is there is so little of interest to post on. It is the same dull political threads and posts rehashed umpteen times; or the same self congratulatory or self indulgent one liners that seem to be posted for the sake of it ( oh yes I know I have done it sometimes - it wasn't big and it wasn't clever).
There is a thread that I would have thought everyone would be posting on, asking questions, getting excited about, but the members of this forum really do not seem interested in the fact part of the town has been awarded £1m to make long lasting improvements and create a legacy and strengthen community; that is fine, that is your choice, but do not expect to be lauded for your stance.

An article on Sky News appeared about the queen's Christmas speech. A number of adults, members of the Public, commented in the comments page, regular readers and posters on Sky News.
The majority of views were critical of the speech's topic and the complete absence of any reference to the poor people in Britain victim of our economic woes. And the majority of views were also critical of the monarchy.
There was not one offensive word nor anything that could allude to denying the civil rights of the royals as normal people.
A minority of comments were critical of the majority views, and supportive of the monarchy, its style of life and its place of eminence in the British Constitution.
As the views that were critical towards the monarchy became ever more numerous, however remaining completely unoffensive and within our legal charter of rights of freedom of expression, Sky News simply decided to take the comments page down!
The article is still up and running on the top page of Sky News, but with the comments page censored, gone!.
This should make adults feel humiliated, taking away our freedom of speech in what we would perceive to be a free Society!
Making us feel like silly naughty children in the classroom who have had their mouth gagged and been sent to the wall!
What a silly, arrogant, self-imposing Establishment is this???
This is not a free Society! THIS IS TYRANNY!

Not one article there on Christmas is opened, without half the page being full of massive close-up pics of one or other member of one family, as if they had replaced Christmas and Christmas had become all about them.
And what the Olympics in the queen's speech has to do with Christmas, is anyone's guess.
Actually, what Christmas has to do with being all about self-glorifying pics of members of one family head of ... everything!!!, goes beyond me. Then the deleting all comments!
I just needed to shout a cry of protest into the wilderness.
