dave is looking a bit lonely now, after the outburst from peter oborn the mail on sunday had an article saying much the same about the "chipping norton" set.
will be interesting to see if any of his cohorts in the party start to distance themselves from him.

Obviously the distancing itself has already started howard, with Boris already making his viws known on a leadership election, and worse the people support him, and that doesn't come from any labour person, but from the tories own web site!!
looks like camerons time is limited, the knives will be out now, just a matter of time on how long he lasts

BERN;
I'm sure no one underestimates him, and the dark way cameron operates like trying to bribe his own MP not to raise an issue, then threaten to destroy him.
but like you say the SHADOWS is the one that will probably destroy him rather than help him
or are you talking about the musicians lol

more bad news for dave looks like the yellows are now distancing themselves.
"The Deputy Prime Minister was told he had no "standing" to object to the former News of The World editor being given the Downing Street job despite the phone hacking scandal, according to Chris Huhne, the Energy Secretary.
Mr Huhne's comments follow the disclosure by the former Lib Dem leader Lord Ashdown that he also warned the Prime Minister of the "terrible damage" to the coalition if he employed Mr Coulson.
Details of the high-level warnings emerged despite Mr Cameron's insistence that he received "no actionable information" about Mr Coulson before the appointment.
On Saturday it was disclosed that Alan Rusbridger, editor of The Guardian, also contacted Mr Cameron's aides to warn them about how the News of The World had rehired Jonathan Rees, a private detective knowing that he had served seven years in jail conspiring to frame a woman.
Mr Huhne told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show that hiring Mr Coulson given what was already known about phone hacking at the News of The World was a "very serious risk".

am i the only one left not to have had my phone tapped?
"Gordon Brown will today break his silence over the News International scandal by accusing Rupert Murdoch's organisation of targeting his personal information, The Independent has learnt.
In a dramatic intervention in the deepening scandal, the Labour former Prime Minister is understood to be about to claim that private investigators working for the UK's largest newspaper group are believed to have accessed details relating to his personal bank account.
It is also alleged that he and his wife featured in Glenn Mulcaire's records.
It is claimed that material based on some of the illicitly-obtained information was subsequently used by one of News International's titles.
Mr Brown's decision to make the accusations is the latest extraordinary twist in a tumultuous seven days which has shaken Mr Murdoch's British newspaper empire and almost certainly killed his £9bn bid for BSkyB.
In a separate development, the Metropolitan Police today effectively accused News International of undermining Operation Elveden, its new inquiry into alleged corruption of police officers by journalists. In a statement, the Yard said it was "extremely concerned and disappointed that the continuous release of selected information - that is only known by a small number of people - could have a significant impact on the corruption investigation."
News International is understood to have said that no information about emails supplied to Scotland Yard relating to the alleged payments would be made public prior to early August."
i reckon that mr murdoch tapped gordon's phone so that he could discover how to run a successful economy.
i will now give barry 10 minutes to explode.

News Corporation Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch has arrived in the UK to personally ensure that any government inquiry into the News of the World hacking and bribery allegations goes exactly as he wants it to.

From a US news source
...... allegations that News of the World journalists tried to hack into the phones of victims of the 9/11 attacks. A then-New York City police officer (now a private investigator) was approached and offered money if he would hack into the victims' voicemail. The officer reportedly declined the offer
The ''Hackinggate'' scandal deepens.
