Well it was good to see the guys down there yesterday and Im sure most of you have seen the pictures and words on the frontpage by now.Take note of Stewarts demob suit...I want one of them!! A fine body of men so they are, and all in good spiirits brought on by a mixture of wartime comraderie and some real tangible alcoholic spirits in the shape of vodka whisky etc. I was offered allsorts, naturally I declined.. ahem..but gave in with a glass of wine after my arm was twisted a long way up my back.
Chris Precious gave me a bit of a tour of the exhibits and I learned lots of stuff about Dover I didnt know. I saw with much interest what the old St James's Church actually looked like prior to its demise and a real beauty it was...why was it never rebuilt?? I also had the thrill of listening to an old gramophone record played on a series of old gramophones...of course I myself had never seen a gramophone before! But the pulsating rhytmn almost made me want to give Stewart Dimmock a swirl around the dancefloor. I say almost...
Alan T a devil with the ladies gave us a display with his rifle. Always good to see Howard again too and get his picture...ah yer a good lad Howard, its all on frontpage now.
But yes they are good guys and doing very well. The whole thing is an excellent media story, great fun but with serious aims. Well done lads.
