This coming Easter weekend the brave idiots from the George Cross for Dover Campaign will be living in wartime conditions (hopefully without the shelling and bombing) to raise funds and awareness for the campaign. Throughout the war most Dovorians had to spend a great deal of time sheltering in such conditions and we hope to remind people of this while teaching the younger population a bit about it. You will find us brewing tea, playing darts and listening to Glen Millar in The Grand Shaft, Snargate Street, Dover (opposite the entrance to the old Hoverport) and all support and visitors are welcome. We look forward to seeing you all there and tell your friends.

no need for these stout yeoman to resort to living in a cave, in this day and age.
all they need to do is contact our own susan, with the housing portfolio, she will have you all resettled in dolphin house in next to no time.

Some Years as you know I have carred the cross up to the top of the hills, but did not do it last year,
and this year I am at my own church thursday night. Friday morning I always go and buy hot cross for my family and about 6 familys in the road I live in,have been doing that for about 10years now, and love doing it, I always get them very hot and always from kings ,It is one of the best times of the year for me I love geting them, and lesley bags them up and takes them around about 40 to 45buns. at 3.00 that day I am back in church, saturday morning I am working, and then back to my church at 20.00hrs sat/night till about 23.00hrs and again on Sunday morning at 11.00hrs, so my time is taken up but if I can I will be out side the D.T.C.office on Friday ay 10.00hrs but again I do not know if I can carrie the cross anymore at 67years old I am finding it all to much for me.
I remain yours faithfully Vic M

We thank you both for your good wishes.
Should anyone have any photo's or posters etc of wartime Dover (as well as any other 1940's memorbilia) that we could borrow for the weekend we would be most grateful and you can be assured that we will look after them and return them promptly afterwards.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

I have quite a few in the car from guided walks (so will be some wartime ones there) that I can lend if I manage to get down on Friday sometime....
