It's a free vote, so minds could be made up at the last minute...

Charlie has been quite clear from a fairly early stage that he will not vote in favour of this Bill.

For me this is a silly storm in a teacup stirred up by the media. Why should gays not get 'married' after all in my mind they are married having had a civil ceremony just the same as I was for over 40yrs after my registry office wedding.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I wonder what is so special about this vote that they are concerned about alienating the electorate? I would have thought plenty that has gone before it has alienated us more?

This is the wrong battle to fight, for both sides - wrong for Cameron and wrong for the antis who are making the fuss.
If I had to vote I personally agree with Charlie on the simple basis that previous legislation corrected a clear injustice that needed to be addressed and this is unnecessary. That said - it is not an issue to get wound up about.

Cameron is a fool, alienating his party over such a trivial matter.
He is a very poor PM

have to agree with the assessment that there are much more important things dave should be busying himself with, some interesting comments from kent m.p's in this article.

Well charlie may be in the wrong camp on this one.
And his observation that gays should be treated differently won't go down well.
Although the mouse has probably picked the wrong issue for his party, annd they are leaving in droves,
and up to 180 MP's will defy him
it will probably still go through, the problem will be is the tory infighting going to destroy the mouse/govt?

Why is Charlie in the wrong camp?
Voting for what you believe doesn't put you in the wrong camp.

David
Of course you are correct
but now the tory party will continue to tear itself apart

Keith, you seem to confuse what you wish for with what actually transpires.
If I were you I'd be careful what you wish for, as I've told you before Cameron will be jettisonned before the GE and Boris will take over, he is a real vote winner, just ask your mate Red Ken.

that was a;ways a mismatch, 10 years earlier the vote would have been very different, if anything the mayoral result showed boris not to be the great vote winner after all.

errr, no Howard. His victory in the mayoral elections prove the opposite to what you said. London is a 'left inclined' city. He won against the odds, a victory based on his personality.

Are you kidding Howard? He is the only tory capable of winning in London, Cameron wouldn't stand a chance.
Ask Keith who Ed would rather take on at the GE, Cameron or Boris?

Rather confusing, anyway getting back to tonights vote, 180 rebel MP's will be enough to tear the party apart.
David, about 6 months ago i would have supported your view on Boris, but in more recent times hes started to lose credibility
