yes it looks now like govts are more short term.
paulb ,looks like socialism on the way back as you indicate
think howards right whether or not barryw's argument is correct on public spending cuts, we have 98% hard hitting cuts still to come, and this will probably send people over the edge and end up voting cameron out(thats if he is still there before we get to a general election)

I think we all should hold on a minute and think this whole thing through rationally.
We could all consider perhaps to walk a mile in a rich man's shoes.
That way we would be a mile away...and have his shoes.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

We need wage increases at the bottom, we need to stop outside workers coming in siphoning of money from the system, much of the 9 billion spent on the Olympic has gone out of the country to Eastern Europe.
British workers spend there money in the UK .
We need big fuel tax reductions, and we need big cuts in council tax it's doubled in 12 years.
Some cuts will be necessary to pay for this, governments is to big
We need to dismantle the middle class fuelled non jobs that are tying up the country in needles red tape.
We need to take back the utilities and set them up so profit retunes to maintenance and upkeep of the networks only, not big payments to shareholders.
And stop legal aid and no win no fee .

just before barryw/peter put the conservative spin on things
keithb
lets look at some of your points;
more wages for the poorer paid even conservative roger agrees with this so no problems there,,,
no jobs for non english not sure if thats a workable thought
council tax is out of control, far to exspensive for what we get.
but to reduce it will see losing even more services
as the high paid in councils on over and up to £100,000 in the main always survive.
you suggest some cuts are required but don't indicate which you support
im all for cutting red tape that is not required, but do fear moving to far and going back to dreary days of the cloth cap at the gate each day begging to be given a job
taking back utilities obviously has my support, but must be run in the interests of the country and not just propping up jobs as was seen at times in nationalised industries
legal aid and no win no fee would support your view on this
over to barryw and peter for the conservative spin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Cut sickness benefit to counsel workers to stop the abuse ,cut privet health services to these workers ,let them set up there pension schemes non taxpayer funded .
Only pay for the hours worked, no salary
Employ workers direct cut out the agencies, contractor and consultants.
Returning non British children to the country of origin it's not the responsibility of the UK to support the planet
Bring in a chop man to cut at the top
Slash the housing benefit bill.
More council housing, do not us the big developers to do this only employ local firms and workers.
2
You say )no jobs for non English not sure if that's a workable thought)
The uk managed with British workers ok before the invasion.

worker are begging at the gate now keith
I will give you one example, if a worker saves up to do a training course to better him self ,why must he be required to renew that training course every 3 or 5 years in order to keep the training canters going.

whilst we wait for the conservative spin from peter and barryw let me reply to you keithb
1; council workers like any other get sickness benefit, not sure why you just pick
on one section of the community, maybe look at the issue all over
2;although private health care given to any worker more so in the public sector
is wrong, it is a negotiated right, and im a firm believer in sticking to
agreements, maybe looking to a negotiated settlement.
3;im afraid your salary option is another negotiated settlement unlikelt to change
although paying out over £100,000 or even up to that figure is very
questionable that all parties have failed on
4; fully agree on not using outside agencies wherever possible
5; we would have to look more closely at who we send back and why
and any reprocusions., all parties recognise
6; bringing in a chop man sounds a good idea but unworkable in reality
and maybe even some are justified
7; not sure how you would cut the housing benefit bill, also the affects this would
have as you may well just pay in other ways
8; in defense of local councils the tenders do go out and any local company
can apply, but often don't, as much as possible local companies should be
encouraged, but in this public money needs to be looked at carefully and
not given to a company just because they may be local, they could be cra*
9; keith, you are not correct on the uk managed before, the jobs have always
been there uk citezins choosing not to take them because of poor pay
not whether or not this remains an issue is bigger than this thread
10; that may well be something, but surely training and updating training
isn't a bad thing, some training is good, some not so good a lot depends
on the trainer and those taking part, but lifes about learning,,,,,,

They get full pay from day 1 ,its well documented public sector worker have more sick days than workers that do not.
You asked me what cuts ,rip up the agreements, the important thing is to get the council tax down. We need big sackings and not utopian working practises. You should not dismiss the ideas of blue labour so easy ,try to listen to the tax's payers that are struggling paying for all this mess
Hosing benefit ramped up by privet landlords.

keith b;
i hope that i am listerning,
thats why i did reply to your post with my view some agreement, some not
thats what the forums about differing opinions
to return to your last post another reply ;
1; so maybe rather than council workers you would like it to be all public sector
workers
2; with regard to agreements not so keen on ripping them up and not to many
posters would be i presume(a few will)
but excessive pay, yer with you on that part
3; with regard to private landlords, yep many been ripping off peop;le
from all walks of life for some time
