Not so much the legal people as the enforcement section, with the back-up of legal.

Tallking to one of the council officers he tells me the legislation and lack of staff are the problem/
it appears now after all these years the council is pushing through legislation and soon hopefully to have enforcement officers with powers to do something.
but as the officer says in the mean time the problem exists.
heres a good one,,,,,,,
the officer informed me after many calls to many houses with an interpreter(imagine the cost of all this)
the interpreter said the other nationalities dont want to comply

not so much legislation keith as just tightening up on the rules.
the enforcement officers duties will not extend to the folkestone road problem, they will be stamping down on uncleared dog toffee, littering and fly tipping.
they will be busy enough in the town centre i doubt they will go outside of it.

The council has always had enough staff to snoop on waste bags in Castle St to ensure that small businesses are not trying to sneak trade waste into the domestic collection.
But then, small businesses are soft targets.

So are the general public Peter.
Folkestone Road and the surrounding roads, are now being targetted by all sorts of DDC departments and agencies.
There's no more carrots - they've all been eaten, next, it's just the stick.

i have been to most eastern european countries including what was czechoslovakia.
all of them were a lot cleaner than the u.k. so it is not about cultural differences at all, more about the individuals we are lumbered with in the priory area.

Once again Roger well done an I do hope you are receiving the full backing of the other ward councillors both Town, District and County. Howard in his post 91 is correct in saying it is not cultural but individuals that are creating the issues and that is who DDC should be targetting.

very true keith but the priory area is for people to live in houses and act accordingly.
the problem seems to emenate from the citizens of one country.

Discussed this week in parliament by the immigration minister, the ethnic cleansing. Of roam and others from East Europe.
There governments giving them one way tickets to the UK.
Lots of them ending up in the costal towns especially Margate.
The question is why would an EU government be inviting its citizens to go to another country??

in the days of asylum seekers the czech and slovak governments were running campaigns to promote the benefits(sic) of living in our fair land.
when our people got onto them about it they then promoted canada.

Following up on Keith Bibby's post, I found that in the Czech republic, after the sixth child, there was a possibility that Romany women could unwittingly be tricked into signing a piece of paper, even thought they couldn't read or write..
From the Guardian 2005
"Having kept silent for years, Bolvanova and dozens of others have now united to demand an apology and compensation from the Czech government for allowing doctors to sterilise Roma women without their consent."
"Human rights groups have begun to unearth alarming reports that doctors and social workers are still pressuring gypsies to be sterilised..."
"Gypsy society values large families, and infertility is shameful for both women and men. Most victims of forced sterilisation say their partners soon left them for other women."
English society also values large families, which may explain why the Czech and Slovak governments give one-way tickets to England. C'est plus facile

I've never seen or read anything that says that English society values large families - where did that come from Alexander.
Why have large families if you can't afford them ? Why expect the State to pick up the tab ?
