the council officers have done their best they cannot stay all day and keep an eye on things, it needs firmer action.

Firmer action?
Like what?
Who should be the target of this firmer action?
What are the consequences?

all quite simple.
1)ascertain the identities of everyone in each property.
2)evict those that should not be there.
3)prosecute those that are claiming housing benefit then sub letting.
4)revoke the house of multiple occupation licence.

the area bears less resemblance to a favella, people who get up early for work will get a good nights sleep and the streets will feel safer for many.
that's off the top of my head, there will be others when i give it some thought.

I don't think good people should Lose there credit rating Howard over a load of
Scumbags
Up the council to holed them responsible for not doing there jobs is best.
Maybe all the local politicians that are responsible for the open borders should take responsibility and sort it out.

This thread took off in all directions, so we are where we are, so what next?
Well i suppose you could look at doing as howard says which may make a difference, but unlikely to solve many of the problems that exist, as many of those
living on the Folkestone Road, probably are legal to be here, the bigger picture is
what do you do to resolve the problem

It might be a case of finding out who's claiming which benefit and whether or not they are entitled to it.
Whether by law some people should be looking for work and what they are doing to find employment.

no doubt the vast majority if not all are in the country legally, that is not the issue.

Nothing to do with being in the country legally or not, Howard.
The question I raised, is whether everyone who should be looking for employment is doing so.

I think you're on the wrong thread, Howard, this one is about immigration and employment.
From post 1:
"If Ed Milliband wants to see just how much his administration failed to regulate immigration I suggest he walks down the Folkestone Road at 5am in he morning."

Yes it is about Folkestone Road Peter. The trouble is that the problems here are many and various.
Waste and rubbish issues,
Anti-social behaviour - all sorts
Noise late - at night
Over-crowding - too many people for the numbers registered
Children not going to school - mostly East European
Dog-poo - almost everywhere
Too many businesses looking after "vulnerable" people - and not managed properly
Rogue Landlords - bad housing with bad tenants
Front gardens not looked after - bringing the area down

Spot on Roger, now what is DDC going to do to support you in rectifying the issues? After all they apparently have the legislation to deal with the problems but once again do they have the expertise or the will to do it?

I'll start off by saying yes Ken, they do have both, maybe not the (human) resources though, although because of my badgering with emails, phone calls and photos (at least I hope so) they are doing their best (yes, I know, that then begs the question "is their best good enough" ?).
I'm meeting with The Director of Waste Services next week to discuss all these issues and will establish for certain, whether or not there is the legislation, the expertise and the will to resolve all these issues.

good luck with the meeting roger i think that waste services have done all they can, up to the legal people to take what action is necessary to stop the blight.
