Just seen pictures, looks like a scene out of a horror film. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be in the building.

This was an awful thing to wake up to this morning. Sadly there are fatalities I dread to think how many will eventually be confirmed, unfortunately I expect it will be a high number .

Sorry but no one should have to live in buildings like that, they know there is a fire risk building that high, the water can not reach that high, and all we can do is pray for the ones living there and the firemen who are trying to put it out.

The block had undergone a massive refurbishment over the last two years but the fire alarms didn't go off!!

If I heard correctly from one of the residents the alarm was going in the stairway but could not be heard in the individual flats. Cladding the outside with plastic cladding "to make it look nice" also could also have been part of the problem.

The building its self must have been put up very good or it would have come down with all the heat etc,but as for the refurbishment we will have to wait and see but the cladding on the outside of the building might play a big part in why the fire took hold and moved up the building like it did,but we will have to wait some weeks before we know that.

Latest news is that 74 were hospitalised with 22 in a critical condition - 6 hospitals involved. The local community including churches and mosques are doing great work in taking people in and providing them with food and water.

Unbelievably sad. What next?
...........................................2017 is going to be remembered for all the wrong reasons I fear.
It's good to see people rallying round again, not forgetting the Police, Fire and NHS services who are pulling out all the stops once again in extremely difficult circumstances.

I don't agree with deleting posts. I don't know what was said but leave them there and let's judge and expose people.

David if you had seen the first post and following posts by a new brand new member in this case I think you would have agreed with them being deleted.
