"why does it sound right wing to want what might be a more effective form of punishment?"
What you have written Jan does not read as the least bit 'right-wing'. Wanting an (more?) effective form punishment is probably something that people all across the political spectrum would have some desire for.
"Tough on crime and criminals" has long been a right-wing slogan, stolen somewhat by T Blair with his, "Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime."
As I see it, the right-wing is all for promoting harsher and harsher punishment irrespective of effectiveness. History may well have taught them that this is attractive to many voters.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Jan, in Keith's peculiar world left = good and right = bad.
Its total nonsense but it saves him having to think about anything.
Interesting though, on the other thread he suggests that if Barry W visited Aylesham he'd get lynched, work that one out.

David
To be fair with Keith he did agree with me ("I may sound right wing here jan but I agree") so your as per usual dig at him is unwarranted.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

David if you cannot work that one out indicates you and the `few`have zero knowledge / understanding of the
situation.......

Actually Jan what Keith posted confirms my view
("I may sound right wing here jan but I agree")
Yeah I do have a dig at Keith, he has been rude to me on many occasions, I'll continue the point out his hypocrisy and double standards.

Reg, I have more understanding of the situation with the miners than probably anybody on here with the exception of Gary C. My mum comes from Elvington, family still live there, ALL the men on that side of the family worked at the pit. I played football for Snowdown for years and have lots of mates in Aylesham.
Please don't try to take the moral high ground about mining communities with me Reg, you are the one who has "zero knowledge" in comparison.

David i do agree with the others as well..almost all your posts are about Keef and several people have said it to you now. You post about nothing else. Rude isnt the word for what you have posted several times. Every post carries an insult. We always tried to get a clubhouse feel on here and if you dont want that then may be you should look for something else to do during the working day.

The broken stand in 51 has been taken away for repair by Jolly's and the police have been quite proactive in trying to catch the culprits. The police suggested that it would be possible to monitor the area by use of a webcam and computer, so if anyone knows how to do this could they phone Karen at the Riverside Centre?
