Jolly's the pet shop donated 3 bird stands which they placed on the river bank by the Riverside Centre and kept them topped up with food 3 times a week. On 2 previous occasions Karen has waded into the river to retrieve them where they had been thrown by scum. Today, no sign of them, but the scum did leave empty beer cans in their place.
During the daytime Riverside's users have to tolerate the rowdy drunken antics of these scum and now nothing is safe from their antics.
Suggestions please, if they include the use of a baseball bat I'm with you.

To be fair Ken its not just Dover, its a nationwide problem which is getting worse.
The solution is more and proper policemen, not these silly PCSOs or whatever they're called, a bunch of young kids and old codgers strolling around town like playground attendants.
I'm led to believe a prolific forum member is one of them, need I say more?

Work: remunerative employment. Is the answer that goes to the heart of the matter.
Perhaps there is off-licence nearby that is unaffected by the recent Council-led drive to curb sales of cheap but highly intoxicating liquor.
It is indeed a great pity, that these days chemical-sedation is thought preferable to simple wonderment, in the face of nature's beauty.

Actually Ken I think a more appropriate punishment would be to throw those scum in the water and pelt them with their empty cans, you could add a few full ones if you have an accurate aim.

How true, at the drop of a hat, baseball-bat-battalions and lynch mobs roam the streets.

The respect for the police is still there I am sure but there are so few of them. Howard your photos are a joy and will lift Karen's gloom when she sees them.
Tom, my suggestion of baseball bats is not as a means of law enforcement but as a punishment.

Karen has located them in the river further upstream but difficult to retrieve, however Rix the scaffolders have once again come to the rescue and will try to bring them back.

Ken, is there anyway they could be cemented in or would that entail getting permission from the Council. The only other answer is to bring them in when the Centre is closed.

hope so as their is now a good mix of wildlife in the area where the feeders are - took these the same day as the ones above, the pigeon had a lot more success than the jackdaw.

Until discipline and respect are part of the schools days
And police officers need to look like police officers
Get rid of the puny short ass fakes.
Restore the height rules.
Give them guns and taza guns
Over to you tom

unfortunately keith the police in general do not want to carry guns, i am quite happy for specially trained and psychologically assessed officers using guns when necessary but not some jumped up nerd who joins the police for the kick of carrying a firearm.

I don't think the normal police officers have a private say Howard
That vote probably comes from the police political top
If I was a police officers walking around machete carrying hackney , I would like to have something more affective for protection ,than standing there with my D..... In my hand

The longer you peer
the more you do see
that the logic most dear
is falsehood upon fallacy
The bigger the feet...
The larger the hand...
...the greater the treat
...the more magic the wand
The more scalp that's showing,
the more manly the man.
The less deference showing,
the whiter the van.
Such examples as this
can be easily found...
"Greater height, greater bliss
in that ones feet can still reach the ground."
