Just to be clear from the off Bern, you may have the 'blue plaque' all to yourself.

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Just had a look to see so many signatures from overseas. Well done Bern for bringing it to the attention of the worldwide public. And a big thanks to all those from other countries for their support.

Dover is a great and famous port and town - I genuinely feel passionately that we should care for it. Thanks to everyone who has signed and to the Mercury for publicising it, and please get other people signing!! Publicity can only help........!!

I've just signed too, but there cannot be any improvement without the commitment of DTC, DDC, DHB and other major stake-holders.
There needs to be a body (obviously not Dover or Channel Chamber of Commerce) that actually cares about the Town and the businesses here and in moving Dover forward, not just membership dues - although they are very important, as without members, there is no voice, but a definite commitment to the Town and businesses.
Whoever the person who leads on this is, he/she needs the the passion and where-with-all to do it, as well as have the confidence of the local businesses and stakeholders.

i thought the reason for the petition was to bring public pressure on the decision makers.
i doubt anything else would have any effect.

It may do Howard - I hope it does, but I have tried convincing the two councils, DHB and others of the need to really start supporting Dover and the businesses here.
I contacted them all during May but couldn't get any commitment from any of them, in fact DHB didn't have the courtesy to send a reply and at this time, I would have thought that a commitment to Dover would have helped their cause - and Dover's.

you have just confirmed the importance of the petition roger, if you as an elected representative cannot get decent answers then an outside group is needed.
i suspect this will turn out to be a juggernaut that cannot be halted.
