It has nothing to do with the UK ,

FRANCE let them in so it is up to France to send them back or rehouse them.

Woo Hoo! Looks like the locals are kicking off now! This could be fun.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/08/30/calais-locals-to-indefinitely-blockade-port-with-human-chain/
Meanwhile, and I kid you not, there's an article in today's Guardian telling of a Facebook Group we can all join which gives us the opportunity to donate to top up the migrants' sodding mobile phones! (Presumably the same phones they use to call for the Border Farce taxi service once dropped off mid channel?)

This has all the ingredients for a catastrophe, I can visualise the ones that have behaved themselves so far joining in with the violence.

It would appear that the Interior Minister has now agreed that the Kermits will dismantle the camp.
http://en.rfi.fr/france/20160902-migrant-camp-calais-be-dismantled-french-minister
This should finally sort things out in the Calais region.
Much as the closing of the Sangatte Refugee camp did in errrrrrr 2002!

The talks are about averting the blockade not about a long term solution, I agree fully with the actions of Calais citizens.

They must not give in and let them come,as I have said France let them in it is up to them to remove them nothing to do with the UK just because this is where they all want to come. And in return we must make it hard for any that get here to get funds and they must be send back the very next day there is no need for this time wasted on paper work, and on top of that we let them out of a holding on bail and tell them to report back in a week, and what happens they are lost and gone never to be seen again. We are far to soft with it all.

The date of this article gives a clue as to how long this farce has gone on.

Now here's a surprise. The Swedes are finding that some of the poor little refugee children are slightly older than they claim!
http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=55432
But as many will point out, children develop at different rates. It's not fair to disadvantage a child simply because it's 40 years old.

Depending on their country of origin I think of many of these 14yr olds plus behave as adults and are no longer children as we think of children in this country.

Meanwhile our own Royal Navy (ably assisted by our EU partners) continues to ferry thousands of would-be Calais campers to Europe!

N.B. If you listen very carefully, the sound you can hear, is the rest of the world laughing at us!

This wall is sending the wrong message by intimating that the camps will be a permanent feature when the obvious answer is to simply dismantle them.
Regarding the rescues from unseaworthy vessels the migrants know when setting out that rescue ships from various navies are close at hand to give them a lift into Europe.
