Well I don't know Mr Burley so I can't compare the two cases. But I have known Bob for a number of years and consider him to be a decent bloke.

the way of political coves is always one of negativity.
blue barry used to rail on about the evils of the reds and a certain scottish gentleman and how his party alone had all the answers.
all change now that he sees his party making the same mistakes, the excuse now is that all government is bad.

Howard - I am very consistent in believing that government is bad. I have always wanted less government. The Conservative Party is a 'smaller government' party and that is why I support it. Like all parties, it is a 'broad church' at one end there is the Ken Clarke's and at the other Dan Hannen when it comes to small government, I am fully in the Hannen side of the debate.
Being a Conservative does not stop me from saying where they are going wrong and that does not stop me from supporting them either as long as they are going in the right direction, even if not fast and far enough.

barryw
i shar your view on burly
wasn' aware balls did anything like that.
an interesting story was told to me yesterday
the chief executive or boss of the kent county football association was at a dinner- of football referee's and football clubs and these are held on a rugular basis, mr masters the chief bod gave his usual speech toi rally the troops,
just to explain things his wife or partner is coloured or whatever the term is these days.
he made a joke which some would class as mildly racist
his wife like everyone laughed it off
but he was reported for being racist
funny that referee who reported never climbed any higher in the ladder
my own opinion is that this chap is probably in the wrong position to give out such jokes
what do others think

I have no problems at all with such jokes, a joke is just a joke after all and as long as an individual is not being picked on in that way then it is not a problem.
Balls dressed up himself in a Nazi uniform when a student that is why he is keeping quiet. It has been well reported in the past.

Christ on a bike, I did a great many stupid things when I was young. Hopefully I do fewer now. Not promising though.
