PAULB;
Yes, the Derby workers have been let down, and there has to be a big cost of throwing so many people on the dole.
And like one of the workers said Derby already has high unemployment, and many of the workers will probably never work again.

To think like ships we were the world builders on Railways, this should have been stoped by the blues ,They tell us that they are trying to get most back to work, but at the same time they let this happen. They need to go and go now. This is one U-Turn they need to do,but they will not.

You have been on a journey, and there can't be many parties you havn't been with.
But in more recent postings you have indicated our faith in tory administrations, which is of course your right

That means Keith, I feel if the reds were there,it would not be any better,Dover would still be the same in ten years time as it is now.

Bombardier.
At every PM`s Question time Mr Cameron tells us about his Passion for the Private sector to take up the slack of the Public sector unemployment and especially the Manufacturing industry.
Contrary to a contract being a contract cast in stone it is relatively easy to reverse the process. There is plenty of scope in the small print.
If DC was so passionate he could/would be able to save Bombardier.
If ever DC is` just` interested in a manufacturing companys survival it has no chance of being saved.
When a manufacturing company goes under many skills die.
The tragedy to the skilled man,his family, the support industries involved is traumatic and everlasting.
Many end up unemployed or filling shelves at Morrisons? What a dreadful waste especially when its not necessary.

so what is in the small print reg?
my understanding is that most contracts can only be cancelled if someone does not stick to the agreement.
i don't see siemens making a mistake like that.

There is still some hope the Government will review the Siemen contract. The Unite Union is meeting Transport Secretary to inform him that his short sighted, error of judgement decision should be reversed. It is possible to do.Don`t hold your breath.

the issue raises its head again, the european commission has ruled that the contract can be put out to tender again.
let's see what happens - my guess is nothing.

Nil desperandum Howard.
The only way to obtain economic growth is through Manufacturing.
Cameron if he is switched on...............will need to review this one himself.
UK`s manufacturing has been reduced over decades...................it needs all the Bombardiers it can get.
And Europe needs to encourage and expand manufacturing in all its countries to compete with the rest of the world.
Howard your # 31. I answered privately;
``Good Morning Howard,
Any businessman.lawyer, accountant who has been around the block will tell you it can and has been done.``
Regards Reg H.
If Europe wants us to review......................Lets review.
Questions should be asked in the commons by the opposition.Perhaps for once Flashman will resist the Smart arse one liners and answer the question for once........we can only hope!!!

are you that confident keith because i am not?
in living memory i find that our governments do not stand up for the british worker, the french could never be accused of not protecting their own.
i doubt also that the germans would allow foreigners to win vital contracts on their soil when they have companies capable of delivering.

I'm sure this time they will choose Bombardier.
If not, then something must be awfully wrong.

Unemployment edges towards Three Million............One Million being 16 to 24 year olds
Osbourne and Cameron`s Big Gamble and passion that the Private sector would take up the unemployed of the Public Sector..............is not happening........and there is little chance of it happening in the next year or 18 months. The worst figures for Seventeen years...........the last time we had a Conservative Government.
Economic Growth has the same outlook.
Whats the next move?............apart from blaming Gordon Brown,Snow, the Royal wedding,Europe etc,etc ,etc.
