PoD police have a track record of heavy-handedness. I’ve twice been in altercations with arrogant officers who didn’t know the law.

"He is then arrested for breaching the peace, with trespassing laws also cited."
The man filming was not exactly causing any problems by simply standing there, the only ones breaching the peace were those confronting him.
His motive for filming is a different matter and seemed absolutely pointless to me as those being filmed were only boarding a bus.

Doesn't look like public (or leased) land to me.

Boat people on TV every morning should be thread title.
Was watching BBC news earlier and Simon Jones was on a boat in the channel escorting a boat of immigrants across because the Border Force were too busy with other boats.

I got into a spot of bother on the beach while filming with German public broadcaster, ARD. It seems to be a bit of an obsession down there.

DHB seem to have bit of a B in their bonnet about filming anywhere along the front that is why the BBC always do interviews and film from up on the cliffs.

Thats because it is their property and you need the owners permission to film on their property, however you could always stand on the lawns in the front of the Gateway as that belongs to DDC

'Send in the Navy', 'longer sentences', 'tough new laws', 'stay home', etc, etc. Standard panic positions for the utterly clueless who shouldn't be running a winkle stall let alone a country. Plays well on the front pages, too.
