Good Luck Jan, I had a chat with Roger some time ago; they are doing their best, although some may think differently, but they actually are.

Thanks Roger I know its a hot subject at the moment for all of us, and I know Roger and his team are trying to do there job as best they can, but I will say it was rolled out without much thought as to how it would work in each area.
So here's hoping.

There would not have been half the problems there have been if only someone had actually walked the area to see the properties that could not have bins.
I wonder how many bins are sitting in a depot somewhere having been returned as not suitable, what an awful waste of money.

albert road this morning, as you can see most are playing the game but some are deliberately obstructing the pavement.

Ah! Indeed there's no secrets here on Doverforum, forumites are the forerunners in media in this neck of the woods and indeed sometimes beyond. We get frequent calls and emails from the BBC to the national newspapers, the list is endless.
I remember the day David Cameron phoned me at home during the elections when my two daughters were involved with GMTV as first time voters, he got my number from here on the Forum! Even had a call from Andrew Lansley's secretary wanting to get in touch with Bern regarding her blog on here.
So we're in good company guys

It is not clear in the newspaper report,I dont always blame the people in the houses,if the residents have got room at the front of the property then they should put the wheelie bins on the hard standing. If they havent and I know there are stairs down to some of those properties then they should not have the wheeli bins.
I know several are flats and trying to get 4/6 wheelie Bins outside can be impossible.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Have just got back from a walk about up here on Buckland with waste services and the guys from Violia, it was an eye opener to say the least for them.
For it to be rolled out area by area would have taken to long and would cost to much we were told, but as it stands they had to agree that it is not working properly that much the whole of Dover must be in agreement on.
So we wait to see if any of our complaints and suggestions are taken on board, next week we go round with the housing officer to get there input.

Is it possible those bins on Albert Rd have been left out waiting to be swapped for purple bags? Would show how much discontent there is.

I have just walked up Albert Road nearly all bins have gone just two wheelies, 1 blue box and a few food bins still on the pavement. It was bin day yesterday so they might get taken in today

.
Thank you again John for taking up the problem and well done DDC for the fast action.

We've been on the new scheme since September and it's our recycling collection today, it should be blue wheelie bin or blue box for bottles etc and black box for paper but I spotted these variations along the road this morning -
And there's every other combination of black, blue, green, box, bag or wheelie that you can think of.
We still had Veolia coming round yesterday dropping off and picking up bins from houses that had requested a change, makes me wonder if some of those left out on Albert Rd were awaiting collection.

that sums up the situation in most streets ray, if the ones in albert road are/were left out for that reason then it is an inconsiderate action.
i always kept mine off the pavement even though they over stayed their welcome.

I doubt it Howard, the little green food bins have been there since delivery, they do not look as if they have ever been used. I might drop them and the blue box over the wall if they are still there in a few days.

revisited the scene of the crime today in albert road and it seems that the sharp suited mr walton at the council has also visited and delivered a severe telling off to the miscreants, just the one left being dificult.
plenty of those designer slops buckets out though.

Could someone please tell me why Albert Road in Dover has been targeted by the forum/local press for leaving their waste bins in the street when in fact a short drive or walk around our town will show far worse 'offenders'.

well louise, jan on here highlighted the problem so i went down there and took some shots the following day.
then mysteriously the local press went down the next day, i feel sure you can draw your own conclusions.
