Well lets get some more points of view before we hang anyone lol
i got to hear that bern had been banned so i phoned paulb as i do not believe in
suspensions/banning unless theres a real need
I even stood up for barryw when he got a 3 day suspension asking that he not banned so if nothing else im consistent.
now lets get to the finer points;
having spoken to paulb you only have to read bern's facebook comment(see post 17 here)where she states she had enough of the dover forum and had had left using the words bye bye forum.
its also interesting(and not surprizing) that chris p attempted to leave this part out so it sounded better.
of course once produced its hard to defend.
more so when the comments go on to ridicule most(if not all)dover forum members/posters, so why on earth would bern want to return?
that of course also applies to chris p, with some of his comments that are far from accurate, i wish the labour party did have a hold the forum, but if you look under the surface you will find the majority of posters are non political, with tories and labour posters scattered around in very small numbers.
DT1; I do respect your vour viewpoint, and of course anyone can post/read or not read any post they wish, thats why the forum is as good as it is.
i think chris p comments on the labour party and others do him no justice, and its a shame because chris p usually puts forward some good postings, but those comments are inaccurate.
in general terms as howard says, the forum is made up of a broad church and barryw rightly states he slags off the labour party every day as does roger from time to time and thats fine to.
sometimes though posters get upset over a political posting because they may not share that view, or feel they are more experienced, now as i'v said before anyone can read whatever posts they like, or not read as the case may be, but i have found some posters that say they dont like the political postings end up keeping it alive by keep posting on that thread. if they dislike the thread why keep posting on it?
i realise that as barryw has said before on this very issue, the political threads are few and far between, but at the same time have one the largest postings on its thread, now it could be argued if people dont like politics, why do these results not show this?
as i said before the thread is made up of a broad church, and i certainly dont let the forum control my life, nor get excited by postings within the forum.
so maybe we should sit back and reflect on those bye bye comments, and the abuse and then ask, why would a person want to return if they dislike a forum and its members so much?
