Jeremy Clarkson, Shirley Bassey and Tony Blair, but no Mikhail Gorbachev:
Margaret Thatcher's funeral guest list announced
Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will not be invited
It is, by any account, an eclectic guest-list. The Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson
will rub shoulders with the environmentally friendly fashion designer Anya Hindmarch
while Britain's first black Archbishop, John Sentamu, will mingle with South Africa's
last apartheid President F W de Klerk.
Clarkson .......speaks volumes......

'Share it out a bit better' -- hardly, Labour's biggest impact is in reducing the size of the cake in the first place and that damages everyone, the poor mostly.

Agreed Howard it would have been much more appropriate rather than spending the millions it is costing.
I feel sorry for her family having to deal with the hatred that is still being promoted with the song from the Wizard of Oz and its rapid climb up the charts, I hope the proceeds from the record sales end up going to charity.

I'm surprised you bothered replying Barry, the vocal minority will always be exactly that.

It would be wise for every hundredth or so 'attendee' at the funeral to bring a camper's toilet seat and shower curtain. Just the thing for turning road drains into impromptu lavatories, to save distress in those who may fall victim to Police Kettling.
Maybe this is something the Boy Scouts could arrange?

Blaming Maggie for killing British industry is like blaming the vet who euthanases your sick pet.

94# You are right, many mines have closed over the years and none of them have invoked a strike by its Miners because they were closed for logical reasons i.e. through exhaustion or for ecologically unviability reasons.
Betteshanger miners, broke a productivity record the week it closed and it was the most advanced pit in the UK at the time of its closure.
Jan/Howard.
106/107#
Totally agree, her funeral has been hijacked and is being used for the wrong reasons. A family funeral would be more appropriate.
Correct me if I am wrong and I could be, but she never got more than 48% votes, so I'm told?
If right, then thats a minority, is it not?

117# Your right with that statement, British Industry did not need euthanizing, it needed a remedy, it needed curing.
The union stranglehold did need rectifying but not by killing the industry.
