Paul, you haven't mentioned business rates.
DDC have used taxpayer's money to buy the site for DTIZ, so far nothing has happened despite years of plans and promises. My assertion is that they are not putting OUR money to best use, they have tied up substantial funds indefinitely, that is inept.

where do business rates enter the equation david?

Paul breaks down Council tax in terms of where it goes but doesn't include business rates, those of us who pay them should have say in which particular project DDC is going to waste our money on.

Not strictly true Howard, you are correct but central govt then redistributes to councils.

I understand the bore holes for the new hotel have been drilled, is there any further progress to report, all seems a bit quiet.

The hotel will on the corner of Townwall & Woolcomber Streets won't it?
Will there have to be extensive archaelogical excavations before the hotel is started?

Thats my understanding Karlos but it seems to have gone quiet, hopefully no news is good news, perhaps one of the DDC contributors can give an update.

Coming down Castle Hill Road I noticed an old sign on the wall of the terraced houses in Castle Street that has been uncovered following the demolition of the MFI building. There are a few letters missing, so it now reads -A-AG- going downwards.
I'm guessing at Garage...

Yes, I notice that 1 or 2 of DDC's finest have been posting but haven't replied to this thread.
Come on chaps, communication has been identified as an area that can be improved, nobody is beating you up, but what is happening?

David, you can take silence as meaning nothing to say.
Communication ends.

That seems a little abrasive Paul, I was just politely asking if there was any progress.
I'll draw my own conclusions from your response.
