Park and Ride service to help visitors enjoy Kearsney Parks over bank holiday weekend

Sunday, 19 May 2019
As we look forward to the spring bank holiday weekend, Dover District Council is trialling a free park and ride service to Kearsney Abbey from the DDC offices in Whitfield over the three days.

The free bus will run from the car park at the DDC offices at Whitfield (CT16 3PJ) to the car park in Kearsney Abbey for the trial period. The bus will run from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (25 to 27 May 2019) and will be accessible to wheelchairs and buggies. Dogs will be allowed at the driver's discretion.

This comes as exciting restoration works get underway at the Kearsney Parks. The restoration of Russell Gardens, along with works to key historic features and a new café and visitor centre in Kearsney Abbey are being funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.

Jenny Coller, Kearsney Parks Project Manager said: "We’re delighted to be able to trial this new park and ride service, and we will be assessing its success. Parking spaces at the parks are limited, and the café car park is closed during the construction works.  We continue to encourage visitors to walk or cycle, or to try out the new park and ride over the bank holiday weekend."
