Woman arrested on suspicion of burglary in Dover

A burglary suspect was detained by plain clothed officers from Dover Community Policing Team within minutes of a report being received yesterday evening (Thursday 12 April 2018).

The home, in Elms Hill, Dover, was targeted at around 7.45pm.

Initial reports informed officers that a man had been seen running into a nearby field and that he had been assisted by a woman following a loud bang coming from the victim’s home.

At 7.50pm a 28-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was arrested nearby on suspicion of burglary. She remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Enquiries to locate the outstanding man remain ongoing however, as part of the search, officers recovered a laptop and some bottles of a whisky in a nearby field.

These have since been confirmed by the victim to have come from their home.
