Dover Town designated as Neighbourhood Area

Monday, 13 August 2018
Dover Town has been designated as a Neighbourhood Area following an application by Dover Town Council, to help the local community shape the future of the town.

The designation of the Neighbourhood Area follows an application to Dover District Council, and will enable Dover Town Council to progress the preparation of its Neighbourhood Plan.

A Neighbourhood Plan is a document produced by the local community to shape and guide its future development. The processes are set out in national planning regulations to help planning to take place at a local level.

The Dover Town Neighbourhood Area covers the six wards that come under Dover Town Council.

Cllr James Back, DDC Cabinet Member for Built Environment, said: "DDC is committed to giving help and advice to local communities preparing Neighbourhood Plans, and we welcome working closely with Dover Town Council as they progress their Neighbourhood Plan, alongside the district’s new Dover District Local Plan."
