Updated: Man charged following fatal collision on Jubilee Way

Kent Police officers investigating a fatal collision on Jubilee Way have charged a man.
 
Traian Soare, 51, from Romania, appeared at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 5 July 2017 after being charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday 2 August 2017.

At 11.54pm on Sunday (2 July 2017), police were call to a report of a collision on the A2 Jubilee Way in Dover, involving a yellow lorry and a black Nissan Qashqai.

The lorry was travelling down Jubilee Way towards the docks when it was in a collision with the car which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, and a man in his 30s who was travelling as a passenger, both died at the scene. Both men were from Canterbury and their next of kin have been made aware. Formal identification has yet to take place.

A 36-year-old man who was also arrested at the scene has since been released without charge.
