Elderly Dover woman robbed on doorstep

Kent Police is appealing for information after a woman in her 80s reported being robbed on her doorstep.

The incident happened as the victim, who uses a walking trolley, returned to her home in Maison Dieu Road, Dover, between 5.15pm and 6pm on Friday 24 February 2017.

She had been out shopping and was carrying a bag containing cash, bank cards, a mobile telephone and various other personal possessions.

As she went to open her door, she was approached from behind by a man who is reported to have grabbed the bag. A brief struggle took place and the woman fell over before the suspect was able to escape with her belongings.

He was described as wearing white trousers or jeans, and possibly had something covering his face as his voice was muffled.
