Dover District Council recommends reduction in members from 45 to 32 in Boundary Commission Review

Tuesday, 12 December 2017
A proposal to reduce the size of Dover District Council from 45 elected members to 32 was passed at a meeting on 6 December 2017. The proposal forms part of an Electoral Review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE), requested by Dover District Council.

The proposal to reduce the size of the Council has been formally submitted to the LGBCE for review. There will be two periods of public consultation on the proposals, including a consultation on the proposed ward boundaries (30 January to 9 April 2018) and on the draft recommendations (5 June to 13 August 2018).

If agreed, the new ward boundaries and council size would take effect for the May 2019 full council election.
