Two arrested during drugs warrant

Friday, 24 June 2016
Two people have been arrested for drug offences after a warrant was carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a house in St Margaret's at Cliffe today (Friday, 24 June 2016).

The drugs warrant was executed by Dover Community Policing Team with support from officers from the Special Constabulary at the address in Collingwood Road just after 8am.

A substantial amount of herbal cannabis was found in the property. Cash and mobile phones were also seized.
A 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both from the Dover area, were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply. They are currently in police custody.

Police Constable Matt Hawkes from the Dover Community Policing Team said: "This warrant was the latest action in our ongoing fight to disrupt people who are involved in the use of illegal drugs in the Dover district."

Special Constable Simon Revell said: "At the beginning of the year members of the Kent Special Constabulary received training in searching people, premises and vehicles and since then have assisted Dover Community Policing Team and local officers on a number of drug warrants including the successful search today, where Special Constables were responsible for finding some of the items seized.

"Officers from the Special Constabulary will continue to work with the Community Policing Team and local officers in tackling issues that are key to the Dover community," he added.

If you have information about illegal drug use, you can contact Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 anonymously, or speak to your local police community support officer.
