Forty-six new bus shelters are on the way for local communities in Dover and Deal.

New bus shelters on the way in Dover and Deal
This follows Dover District Council's decision to award a new contract to provide and maintain the shelters over the next 15 years. The new contractors, Adspace 2000, are working closely with the previous contractors, JC Decaux, to provide a smooth transition for everyone using the shelters.

Work to remove and replace the shelters is expected to start in the Dover area week commencing 13 June, and in the Deal area in early August. There will be a delay between the removal of the old shelters and the installation of the new ones, but work has been done to coordinate works to minimise replacement times.

Martin Leggatt, DDC Head of Assets and Building Control said: "We are looking forward to seeing the new bus shelters installed for local communities.  We would like to thank all those using the shelters for their understanding, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during the change-over to the new facilities."
