A firm in Deal has been awarded a contract to carry out a range of repair and painting works in the district, including refurbishment of the Victorian tram shelter on Folkestone Road, the Dover Museum frontage, and three beach shelters on Deal Seafront.

DDC has awarded the contract to Hipperson Builders (M&E) Ltd in Deal. Works are due to start in September.

Martin Leggatt, DDC Head of Assets and Building Control said: "We are pleased to award this contract to a local company. The refurbishments are part of our regular maintenance across the district, as we continue to work hard to preserve and protect our buildings and heritage, and keep the district looking great for the future."
