Council Tax levels confirmed for 2016/17

Council Tax levels for 2016/17 were confirmed at a meeting of Full Council last night (2 March 2016). Dover District Council has confirmed that the average total Council Tax bill for 2016/17 for a Band D property in the area will be £1,592, an increase of £55.44 or 3.61% on the 2015/16 bill of £1,536.56.

The Kent County Council element of the bill will increase by £43.56 to £1,133.55, with increases of £5 for the Police and Crime Commissioner, £4.95 for Dover District Council, £1.35 for Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority and an average of 58p for Towns and Parishes.

At £172.44, Dover District Council is one of the lowest taxing district councils in Kent. The increase for the district council element of the bill is less than 10p per week.
