Meanwhile girls from the Women’s Artistic Squad have also been in action at the South East Regional Modified Code competition.

The Artistic Squad gymnasts train on the four gymnastic apparatus: Floor, Vault, Bars and Beam. In the Modified 4 2005 group Bethany Dobson won a Silver Medal and Ursula Wright achieved 4th place.

The Artistic Squad are busy training for the Kent Championships on 3rd and 4th December and both squads are also gearing up for Dover’s own Club Championships on 18th December which is the highlight of the year.

Head Coach Doreen Critchlee said: "Our gymnasts have been working very hard and it is great to see them achieve well at competitions.

"2016 has been another phenomenal year for Dover Gym Club. We’ve had excellent results at competition, seen interest in the club reach record levels, particularly in the weeks after the Rio Olympics, and it is our 40th anniversary year."
