Woman sentenced after being found guilty of assault

A Dover woman has been sentenced to 70 days in prison, suspended for 12 months, after being convicted of assault.

Chloe Craib was sentenced on Thursday (6 August 2015) at Channel Magistrates' Court in Folkestone. She pleaded not guilty but was convicted of the offence by magistrates.

On 3 September 2014 the 19-year-old, of Weavers Way, assaulted a woman at an address in High Street, Dover.

Magistrates sentenced Craib to 70 days in prison, suspended for 12 months and gave her a three-month curfew to remain at home between 6pm and 6am daily. The curfew runs until 5 November 2015.

She was also issued with a restraining order on conviction, banning her from going to Royal Victoria Place, Dover, or contacting the victim. The restraining order lasts until 5 August 2017. She must also pay £200 compensation, £680 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
