Family pay tribute to 'loving son, brother, grandson and true friend'
The family of a man who died following a collision in Alkham Road, near Dover, on Sunday (6 December 2015) have released a tribute to him.

The body has not yet been formally identified but it is thought to be that of Sean Petch, who was 23 and lived in Folkestone.

In a tribute his family said: "Sadly, on Sunday 6 December, Sean had a car accident and passed away. We have lost a loving son, brother, grandson and true friend.

"He was a cheeky chappie with an amazing sense of humour. A self-confessed wind-up merchant, Sean loved playing pranks and pulling people's legs. He was happy-go-lucky and would go out of his way to help his family and his friends.

"He had lots of friends and was very sociable. A handsome young man with the most fantastic beard, Sean considered himself quite the ladies' man.

"He excelled at cooking, just for fun, a definite Masterchef contender. He was especially popular when he decided to make one of his superb cakes!

"Sean faced many hardships over the past few years, but with sheer determination, and making light of situations, managed to overcome them. Alongside all of this, he completed his apprenticeship and qualified as a multi-skilled engineer. We are immensely proud of him.

"We are all heartbroken. We will miss his company, his sense of humour and that roaring laugh.

"Whilst we all try to come to terms with this, we ask that you respect our privacy.

"From Mum (Elaine Wilson), Dad (Graham Petch), his sister Carla and brother Liam."

Mr Petch was a former student at Canterbury College. Lut Stewart, director of Student Support Services at the college, said: "We are shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Sean Petch. Sean studied at Canterbury College and proved to be an exceptional person who was well-liked and respected by his fellow students and staff. Sean had a bright future in the engineering industry, and will be missed by all of us."

Kent Police is appealing for information following the single vehicle collision, which involved a Seat Ibiza and happened at 10.32pm on Sunday.

Detective Constable Jamie Woodhams said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the collision. If you can assist, call 01622 798538 or e-mail sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 06-1318."
