The Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Sue Nicholas, and a range of invited guests gathered in Connaught Park yesterday (10 February 2015) for the planting of a tree to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.
Guests included representatives from Dover District Council, Dover Town Council, the Dover Society, Royal British Legion, and Dover Lights Out. The oak tree is planted alongside the second lawn on the lower level of the park, and the site is marked with a plaque.
