You Decided - 29 community projects receive funding

Monday, 1 December 2014
Twenty-nine community projects have been successful in their bids for a total of more than £34,500 from the Dover District Neighbourhood Forums for 2014/15.

Successful projects ranged from Supporting Aylesham Youth (£2,500) and the Alkham Valley Community Project (£465), to Age UK Dover (£800), Trudy's Wheels in Deal (£100) and Walmer Cricket Club (£500).

The 29 successful projects included 8 in the Dover North Neighbourhood Forum area (£18,376), 3 in Dover West (£2,465), 6 in Dover Town (£5,206), 9 in Deal and Walmer (£6,324), and 3 in Sandwich (£2,175).

Dover District Council and Kent County Council launched the 'You Decide' Grant Scheme earlier this year. DDC allocated funding to each of the Dover District areas - Dover West, Sandwich, Dover North, Dover Town, Deal and Walmer. KCC contributed to 'You Decide' in the Dover North area, and for all other areas grants will be available via the KCC Combined Member Grant Scheme.

All successful projects are recommended for funding. Recommendations are subject to approval by KCC and/or DDC.
