Van driver due in court following cyclist death

A van driver has been issued with a summons to appear before magistrates in Canterbury to answer an allegation of causing death by dangerous driving.

The 36-year-old man, who is from St Margaret's at Cliffe, was served with the court summons following a collision involving 18-year-old cyclist Daniel Squire on Saturday, 7 September 2013 on the A258, Dover Road, Ringwould. Daniel was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital after the collision but he died of his injuries the following day.

The man, who is not named currently for legal reasons, is due to appear on Friday 25 April 2014.
