Friday, 3 October 2014
Two Dover men have appeared in court, via the virtual court system, charged with burglary.

They were charged early on the morning of Wednesday (1 October 2014) after a shop in River was broken into on Monday 29 September. Shortly after being called to the scene, police arrested the men and recovered a large quantity of alcohol and tobacco believed stolen from the shop.

The men are Nathan Clifton, 23 of De Burgh Street and Michael Bedford, 24 of South Road.

Police were called at 11.20 on the night of the alleged offence by several members of the public reporting that a shop in Lower Road was being burgled and the alarm was sounding.

Both men were bailed and will appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 20 October.
