Police appeal for witnesses after cyclist is left with head injuries

Witnesses are being sought to an incident in Barham which left a cyclist with head injuries.

Kent Police was called to reports of a road traffic collision on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 near Barham at 9.32am on Saturday 30 August 2014.

For reasons not yet clear, the cyclist, a 63-year old man, had come off his bike and suffered a fractured skull.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigating officer PC Ryan Maxwell said: "The A2 is a busy stretch of road and we are sure people would have seen the cyclist. A number of cars stopped or slowed down during the incident to offer help and we would like to speak to those people and anyone who saw the incident take place.

"If you can help police build a picture of what happened, I'd urge you to contact me as soon as possible."
