Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce to cease trading

Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce has informed its members at an annual general meeting, held on the 9th December, the Chamber will cease trading on the 31 December 2014.

Members of Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce will continue to receive business services and support from the Accredited Chamber Network, after Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce agreed to honour existing membership agreements until their renewal date, without members incurring any additional fees.

Ray Johnson, Chairman of the Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce said: "After careful consideration from the board, we have determined that the Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce is unable to continue to operate viably. The Chamber will wind up operations at the end of this year. I would like to personally thank all those who have worked tirelessly to support our members over many years.

"With the primary aim of serving members we are delighted to be working with Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, which will not only provide enhanced benefits to our members but will create a single chamber across Kent which will be of benefit to all."

Jo James, Chief Executive of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce said: "Together with the support of the British Chambers of Commerce, we will offer full membership services and support to all existing paid up Kent Channel members until their membership renewal date. Our focus is to create a smooth transition process for Kent Channel members joining our Chamber.

"We will set a local Economic Development Group to ensure the views and needs of the business community within Shepway, Dover and Thanet are represented and supported."
