Coalfields Regeneration Trust funding

Wednesday, 20 August 2014
Community groups in Kent's former coalfields have successfully applied for grants of more than £6,000 to help a range of projects for the future.

An Appraisal Panel meeting was held at the Dover District Council offices in Whitfield on Wednesday 6 August 2014 to consider grant applications for Coalfields Regeneration Trust funding. It has now been confirmed that there are three successful projects receiving a total of over £6,000 in grant funding.

The successful groups are:

  • Eastry Village Hall for the provision of exercise equipment - £1,600
  • Kent Miners Festival for a bandstand cover and sun canopies - £3,022
  • Walmer Cricket Club for an electronic scoreboard - £1,646.

Coalfield Community Grant funding is now closed for this financial year as all of the funding available has been allocated. The Coalfields Regeneration Trust had allocated over £70,000 for local communities in 2014/15, and in a funding round earlier this year around £65,000 was allocated to 17 successful projects. The grant funding is delivered by DDC in partnership with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
