Update on berthing trial for mv Joline

Wednesday, 17 April 2013
Following the initial and inconclusive berthing trial on 19 March 2013, the owners of the mv Joline carried out further modification to the ship. She arrived at Dover today (17 April 2013) to undertake a second berthing trial in order to establish the feasibility of the vessel utilising the Port's large vehicle ferry berths in the Eastern Docks.

The initial observations indicate that the modifications have largely addressed the issues raised by the previous trial, although some outstanding matters require further attention, before any subsequent shipment may be accepted by the Port. The results will now be fully evaluated by Dover Harbour Board and will be communicated to Barco de Vapor for consideration.
