Three men charged following ferry incident

Wednesday, 4 December 2013
Port of Dover Police have charged three men following an incident of disorder that took place on the P&O Ferry 'Spirit of France' in March this year as the vessel returned to Dover.

The men have been charged with assaulting a passenger on board the ferry, occasioning actual bodily harm. They are also jointly charged with threatening unlawful violence towards other persons. All three men will appear before Folkestone Magistrates on the 6 January 2014.

Inspector Neil Care from the Port of Dover Police said: "This was a particularly difficult and protracted enquiry which, although it has taken some time, we have been determined to conclude. We will not hesitate to prosecute and bring to justice anyone that jeopardises the safety of the Port's customers or threatens the safe and secure environment that we maintain for the benefit of the whole Port community."
