Motorists are being advised that part of the A2 is to be closed this evening (Tuesday, 2 April 2013) as part of a police investigation into a fatal road traffic collision.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit will be closing the A2 between the Whitfield roundabout and the Lydden/Coldred crossroads from 10.15pm to 11pm.
The road closure follows a fatal collision between a silver Skoda and an orange digger on the stretch of road on 15 March at around 12.45am in which a 13-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene.
A 47-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were also injured in the collision.
A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
