New tourism campaign launched for Dover District

Tuesday, 19 March 2013
Welcome to White Cliffs Country, a unique place where coast meets country, beauty meets history, and England meets the Continent - that's the message in an exciting new tourism campaign for Dover District for 2013, which was launched at the Astor Theatre in Deal today (Tuesday, 19 March 2013).

This year's Visitor Guide has been designed to reflect the district's rich history and heritage and uses a unique mix of vintage and modern images to showcase White Cliffs Country at its best. The guide is packed with information on great days out, events and places to stay in Dover, Deal and Sandwich, and the surrounding rural areas.

In addition to the Visitor Guide, Dover District Council continues to produce the popular Days Out leaflets, as part of the marketing campaign for White Cliffs Country. Special Days Out leaflets are also available in French & Flemish and German & Italian.

Jon Iveson, DDC Museums and Tourism Manager said: "We are very pleased to be working with our partners to launch this new campaign. Tourism plays an important part in the local economy, and latest research shows it is worth almost £250 million to the economy in Dover District, and supports more than 4,500 jobs. This campaign shows the effective partnership working between DDC and the industry, working together to promote White Cliffs Country as a great place to visit."
