Man charged with dangerous driving following theft from Dover shop

A man has appeared before magistrates after being charged with dangerous driving and in connection with the theft from a shop in Dover.

Rory Owen Young, aged 20, of Chislehurst Road, Orpington, has been charged with aid, abet, counsel or procure an indictable offence and dangerous driving.

Police were called to Marks and Spencer, on Biggin Street, on Tuesday 16 April, just before 5pm.

During the investigation there was a collision between a police officer and a silver Ford Focus. The police officer was not injured. The car was located abandoned in Ashford.

Officers investigating the incident arrested a second person. A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and has been bailed until 29 May pending further inquiries.
