Fatal collision on A2 Canterbury to Dover

An appeal for witnesses has been made after a man died on the A2 between Dover and Canterbury yesterday (Wednesday, 17 April 2013).

The 44-year-old man from the Dover area, was the driver of an MGB car. It is believed that the sports car had broken down at the side of the London-bound carriageway between Dover and Canterbury when a Scania tipper lorry collided with it.

The man was declared dead at the scene and his family has been informed. The driver of the lorry was shocked but not injured.

The collision happened at 3.20pm near Patrixbourne and the road had to be closed until 7.50pm to allow emergency services to deal with the collision and for the vehicles to be removed.
