Dover to host prestigious luxury cruise expo

Monday, 19 August 2013
The Port of Dover will be hosting what is being described as the biggest stand-alone luxury cruise event of the decade, the CLIA UK & Ireland Luxury Expo. From 2-3 September, Dover Cruise Port will welcome cruise business delegates from across the UK and Ireland to the UK's second busiest cruise port.

Known as the Port of Kings, Dover's regal heritage will provide the backdrop to an event focused on luxury with three ultra-luxury ships calling during the two day event. Representing some of the Port's prestigious cruise customers, delegates will have the opportunity to tour Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity on day one and Seabourn Sojourn on day two.

Tim Waggott, Chief Executive, Port of Dover, said: "We are proud to be hosting such a prestigious event and to have the opportunity to showcase our facilities as part of our award-winning commitment to present the very best of Dover and the wider county of Kent."

A highlight of the Expo will be a key note speech from James Lohan, the successful entrepreneur and co-founder of Mr & Mrs Smith, the travel publisher and luxury hotel travel service provider.

Mr Waggott added: "I want the Port of Dover, its customers and its community to be aiming for the best and to benefit from the success of the UK's second busiest cruise port. Through such an event as this, and with the calibre of speaker it is attracting, I hope we can do just that."
